Lock Files By Win Rar and Win Zip

If u wanna lock a file with a password ...u can do so using win rar..
Almost all archives support giving password, including WinZip, 7-Zip and it's not something special with Win Rar. But Win Rar is more comfortable than any other.

And if you are setting access like this, it is better you set the compression level to "Store", which will make the compression and decompression faster, since the main aim here is to set a password.

1)Right click on the file for which u want the password to b put.
2)Click on "Add to Archive".
3)Then go to Advanced tab.
4)Click on set password...choose new password.
5)Click ok.
6)A win rar file with ur filename will be created.
7)Next u may delete the original file, as u have now compressed it with a password.
8)Any1 trying to open the rar file wont be able to, unless he knows the password.

So, no need of folder lock software.

MAKE YOUR OWN ICONS

It's shockingly easy to create your own icons in Windows XP. Let's do it:

1.Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, and then click Paint.

2.On the Image menu, click Attributes. Type 32 for both the Width and Height of the document, and make sure that Pixels is selected under Units. Click OK
to create a new 32x32-pixel document: the size of an icon.

3.Now add type, color, or do whatever you'd like to your image. I like to shrink photos (headshots work best) to 32x32 and simply paste them into my Paint document. When you're finished, open the File menu and click Save As.

4.Use the dialog box to choose where you want to save your file, then give it a name followed by ".ico" (without the quotes), and click Save. (The extension ".ico" tells Windows that it's an icon file.)

5.You just created an icon! Now you can change any shortcut or folder to your own icon—just browse to it on your hard drive.

Step 1: Open My Computer then tool and then Folder Options
Step 2: On the View tab check mark Hide Extensions For Known File Types then Click Apply
Step 3: And now right click on the icon that you want to remove it’s text, then go to Rename
Step 4: Now, what you need to do, is hold the ALT button down. With the ALT button held down, and using the keypad type 255 then release the ALT button and hit enter, and voila you now have a untitled icon. This trick will work only for icon, if you are creating multiple Blank Text icons then you will need to name them like this:
For 1 Blank Text Icon: ALT + 255 (release ALT)
For 2 Blank Text Icons: ALT + 255 (release ALT) ALT + 255 (release ALT)
For 3 Blank Text Icons: ALT + 255 (release ALT) ALT + 255 (release ALT) ALT + 255 (release ALT) And so on…
The reason we need to do this is because part of Windows XP rules state that you cannot have a file/folder/shortcut with the same name in the same folder. To get around this restriction, we simply name the first icon with 1 blank space, the second icon with 2 blank spaces, the third with 3 blank spaces and so on.And you have an Super hidden folder.

If you need to shut down in a hurry-or if a frozen application prevents you from shutting down in the normal ways-you can use the following procedure. Be aware, however, that you won't get an opportunity to save open documents. To perform an emergency shutdown, press Ctrl+Alt+Del to display Task Manager. Open the Shut down menu and hold down the Ctrl key as you click the Turn Off command. Poof! If your computer is part of a domain, the procedure is similar. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del and then hold down Ctrl when you click Shut Down. In this situation, you'll get a warning message pointing out-quite correctly-that this should be used only as a last resort.
